About QEH

Introduction

Queensland Eye Hospital was established in 1997 as Queensland Eye Centre by 19 like-minded Brisbane ophthalmologists who saw the need for a dedicated ophthalmic day surgery hospital. Since that time, Queensland Eye Hospital has undergone a name change, moved its location and expanded to 40 ophthalmic surgeons including 24 shareholders and is now the largest stand-alone ophthalmic day surgery hospital in Australia.

Licensed with Queensland Health and accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (ACHS), we follow strict practice guidelines to ensure patients undergoing day procedures receive safe and comprehensive care.

Please note, Queensland Eye Hospital is neither a general care nor emergency hospital. For general care and care without a referral, please visit your general practitioner. For emergency care, please visit your nearest hospital.
