Vision
Queensland Eye Hospital (QEH) seeks to be the leading facility for ophthalmic surgical services in Australia with a commitment to world’s best practice. It believes that the best possible care and outcomes are the result of the dedication, compassion and autonomy of the surgeons to ensure that patient care and medical ethics will be pre-eminent over commercial imperatives.
As such, QEH is focused on remaining a cooperative of like minded ophthalmic surgeons who will use their independence and professionalism to ensure the continuing improvement of facilities and patient care and encourage and mentor like minded professionals to use and join this autonomous group.
QEH is the hospital of choice for leading professionals in ophthalmology, ophthalmic nursing and health administration.

Queensland Eye Hospital is home to over 35 Independent Ophthalmologists and includes 5 of Brisbane's 7 recognised Vitreo-Retinal Surgeons. Our easily accessible and highly skilled team provide a complete range of ocular services for patients, including the following:
- Cataract removal and lens implantation

- Penetrating keretoplasty - corneal transplantation
- Vitreo-retinal surgery, including 25g sutureless surgery

State-Of-The-Art Facility
QEH moved premises in May 2004 to accomodate growing patient numbers. The new premises, located at Little Edward Street, Spring Hill, Brisbane contain a modern and spacious reception, 4 fully equipped operating theatres, 6 anaesthetic bays, on-site sterilisation unit, consultation and out-patient rooms, a 12 bed first-stage recovery unit, a 22 recliner chair second-stage recovery unit, post-operative paediatric corner, and on-site pathology and laser services. The hospital utilises the latest state-of-the-art equipment that fully complies with Australian and international healthcare standards.

Queensland Eye Hospital’s visiting doctors and employees seek to treat patients with fairness and concern, recognising their needs and satisfying them to every extent possible.
When patients and family members need assistance in resolving issues concerning their hospitalisation, the Chief Executive Officer can assist. | March 1999 | 1st Organisation Wide Survery for Australian Council on Healthcare Standards . |
| June 1999 | Care for 2373 patients. Total patients to date: 3162 with 25 dedicated staff. |
| June 2000 | Cared for 2892 patients. Total patients to date: 6054 with 30 dedicated staff. |

| December 2000 | The hospital was redeveloped incorporating a new reception, patient waiting room and administration area, a third pre-operative consulting room, pre-operative anaesthetic bay, dedicated CSD processing room, separate change facilities for male and female staff, new patient locker and change room. The new patient waiting room has seating for 30 patients and carers together with a refreshment area and children's play area. |

| June 2005 | Cared for 5,572 patients since starting in the new facility – total patients to date 25,034 with over 60 dedicated staff |
| April 2006 | 3rd Organisation Wide Survey conducted by Australian Council of Healthcare Standards. QEH accredited for a further 4 years to August 2010. |
