Introduction

QEH: Front Entrance

Queensland Eye Hospital was established in 1997 as Queensland Eye Centre by 19 like-minded Brisbane ophthalmologists who saw the need for a dedicated ophthalmic day surgery hospital. Since that time, Queensland Eye Hospital has undergone a name change, moved its location and expanded to 35 ophthalmic surgeons including 21 shareholders and is now the largest stand-alone ophthalmic day surgery hospital in Australia.

The Hospital provides excellence in surgical eye care delivered in a personal, caring, cost effective and compassionate environment.

Queensland Eye Hospital patients come from all over Queensland, northern New South Wales and overseas to have procedures performed by our highly skilled Ophthalmologists.

Our facility has four large specialist operating theatres containing sophisticated, state of the art equipment which ensures safe and comfortable treatment for patients.

Licenced with Queensland Health and accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (ACHS), we follow strict practice guidelines to ensure patients undergoing day procedures receive safe and comprehensive care.

We are a patient focused team working together to provide each individual with the very best care.

The aim of the Queensland Eye Hospital is to provide a full range of ophthalmic services to all patients at a reasonable cost regardless of their choice of health cover.
