Mr Mark Grey - Chief Executive Officer

Mark Grey is the Chief Executive of the Queensland Eye Hospital, Australia's largest stand alone private ophthalmic day hospital.

Queensland Eye Hospital (QEH) has four state of the art operating theatres and 4 procedure rooms housed in a purpose built facility.

QEH is home to 45 Ophthalmic surgeons and performs around 7,000 procedures per year including cataract, vitreoretinal, corneal transplants, ocular plastics, neuro ophthalmology and paediatric ophthalmology.

Previous to running QEH Mark worked in Asia for 3 years primarily in China as the CEO of Batey Redcell, an Asia wide marketing and communication group best known for the success and longevity of the global Singapore Airlines campaign.

Prior to his Asian assignment he was the Managing Director in Brisbane of Clemenger BBDO, Australia's largest Marketing Communication service company.

Among his health related clients as a marketing practioner have been MBF, Medibank Private, OPSM Asia, Proctor and Gamble health products Singapore, The Departments of Health in three states, Australian Health Care private hospital group, Nicholas Pharmaceuticals, Herron Pharmaceuticals, Royal Children's Hospital Foundation and Terry White Chemist group.

Mark studied Economics and Asian Studies as an undergraduate and Marketing and Corporate Governance at postgraduate level.

He is a Certified Practising Marketer, A Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Mark has served on several private and public boards and has been the state Chairman and national director of the Advertising Federation of Australia, state President and national director for the Australian Marketing Institute, and a Director of the Australian Day Hospital Association.

He is also the founding Company Secretary and a Director for the Independent Ophthalmic Network, a professional association of independent Ophthalmologists and Ophthalmic Day surgeries and practices.

He currenlty services as as an Independent  Director on the Board of Forest and Wood Products Australia Limited and CPA Australia Limited.

He is a former recipient of the Telecom (now Telstra) and state government Business Proprietor of The Year award.

Martin Leonard qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Having qualified in public practice, Martin has spent the last 12 years working in a variety of service industries in Hong Kong, London and has now settled in Brisbane following two years living in the USA. During his career, Martin has managed a variety of financial and administration teams and believes in a strong customer service ethos.
